Lower Taxes on Business and Income
As your State Delegate, Christopher Merola will fight to reduce Virginia's personal income tax rate to 4% and the corporate tax rate to 4%. He will work to end the car tax. Families and businesses thrive when they can keep more of the money they work for. Keeping tax rates low and fair is an integral part of creating and sustaining economic growth in Virginia.
Funding Transportation Projects Without Raising Taxes
If we are to solve the transportation issue once and for all, new and creative ideas must be introduced. By using controlled and environmentally safe energy exploration methods, new revenue can be raised and spent on transportation projects without having to raise taxes or exploding the deficit. Finding ways to raise new revenue without raising taxes on the people of Virginia will be a priority for State Delegate Christopher Merola.
End Wasteful Spending in Richmond
Christopher Merola understands that more deficit spending will not translate into more jobs, higher incomes or economic prosperity. On the contrary, placing huge deficits on the backs of our future generation will only lead to a drain on their economic future. Christopher will be a force for economic growth, common sense spending practices, and finding ways of getting the most out of every tax dollar.
Balancing Virginia’s Budget
We can no longer allow career politicians to create budget shortfalls that will be left to the next generation. We must take immediate steps to eliminate current budget shortfalls and balance Virginia’s budget if we want to get back on the road to prosperity. Christopher Merola will fund necessary projects and programs while voting against wasteful spending. He will make the tough decisions that are necessary, while fighting to reverse the current trends of more spending and taxes.
Accountability in Government
In an age where politicians are often out of touch with their constituents, Christopher Merola will strive to maintain a partnership with the people of the 53rd District. He is always eager to hear the people’s ideas and concerns. He believes that term limits are a vital part of maintaining this partnership. If elected, Christopher will serve only three terms as your state delegate.
